Position Title: Team Lead
Job Duties: As the Team Lead, this person will receive instruction and information from the operational and administrative managers and staff, acting as the primary liaison between the Temporary Foreign Worker (TFW) crew; translate instructions/information from the operational and administrative managers and staff to the TFW crew; ensure that those instructions are being followed correctly; correct how the tasks are being completed, if necessary; track labour time and tasks and enter into the Time & Attendance database for the purpose of calculating payroll for the TFW crew; drive the vehicles on and off farm on an as-needed basis; and ensure the Team has the appropriate tools for completing tasks efficiently. In addition to these tasks, this person will be engaging in the regular manual labour required on the farm along with the TFW crew. This includes harvesting, sorting, packing, weeding, irrigating, planting, transplanting, root pruning, pruning, potting, seeding and other tasks related to the various product lines. These manual labour requirements occur in open fields, greenhouses and hoop houses. The Team Lead is expected to set an example for the TFW crew in completing these tasks efficiently and with attention to detail to ensure the quality of the trees, shrubs & perennials as well as cost effective production.
Terms of Employment: Approximately 8.5 - 9.5 months, approximately 40 hours per week however actual hours per week will vary based on business needs and weather. Position is a Full-time Seasonal, Fixed-Term contract starting approximately March 16, 2027 and going to approximately December 17, 2027.
Wages: $19.95/hour

Education Required: None required, degree/diploma in agriculture, horticulture or forestry preferred or mix of relevant alternative education and experience as deemed appropriate by management
Work Experience Required: Demonstrated verbal fluency in Spanish (Latin American) and English required. Demonstrated ability to accurately translate nursery/horticulture/forestry instructions and information between the English-speaking staff and the Spanish (Latin American)-speaking Temporary Foreign Worker crew in a timely manner. Supervisory or Team Lead experience in agriculture, horticulture or forestry required. Valid driver’s license for Ontario, Canada with a clean driver’s abstract (no tickets, suspensions or accidents).
