Brokered Foot Care Nurse (RPN)
Senior Support Services-LLG is a registered charitable organization dedicated to
improving the lives of seniors and their families by providing community support services.
Senior Support Services-LLG invites applications for Foot Care Nurses (RPN). Foot Care
Nurses are brokered/contracted service providers and are not employees of Senior Support Services-LLG.
The successful Foot Care Nurse (RPN) will provide foot care services to clients at multiple clinics throughout Leeds and Grenville. Our clinics are currently operating at full capacity during regular office hours, and additional nursing support is required to meet client demand. Nurses are needed to provide services at various clinic locations across the Leeds and Grenville area.
Successful candidates will have access to two autoclaves located on site. As an added benefit, the autoclave may be used for their personal, non-SSS-LLG clients, subject to applicable requirements. Alternatively, candidates must have access to a Public Health Ontario-approved autoclave and appropriate reprocessing space.
Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality foot care to clients in a clinic setting, in accordance with all required internal and external professional practice standards.
- Follow reprocessing guidelines in accordance with IPAC best practices.
- Understand and implement infection prevention and control practices while adhering to applicable SSS-LLG standards, policies and procedures.
- Ensure proper clinic set-up, cleanliness and maintenance of the work area.
- Maintain all professional and regulatory requirements associated with the provision of foot care services.
Qualifications
- Graduation from an accredited Registered Practical Nursing Program.
- Current registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario.
- Advanced Foot Care Certification is required.
- Previous experience with geriatric and diabetic populations considered an asset.
- Experience working with seniors and individuals with cognitive impairments.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to perform and prioritize multiple functions and tasks.
- Satisfactory Criminal Record Check and Vulnerable Sector Screening.
- Ability to travel throughout Leeds and Grenville.
- Access to a reliable vehicle.
Compensation & Contracted Position
- This is a brokered/contracted position and is not an employee position
with Senior Support Services-LLG.
- The successful candidate will be engaged as an independent
contractor/service provider and will be responsible for meeting all applicable
professional, licensing, insurance, tax and regulatory requirements associated
with their contracted services.
The compensation/pay rate will be discussed and mutually agreed upon with the successful candidate prior to the commencement of services.
- A formal agreement outlining the terms and conditions of the contracted services will be completed prior to the successful candidate beginning work.
