Overview

We are seeking a reliable and skilled Tow Truck Operator (Independent Contractor) to join our growing team. This role involves operating a manual transmission wrecker/tow truck to provide towing and roadside assistance services. The ideal candidate will possess strong mechanical aptitude, excellent customer service skills, and experience in the automotive or towing industry.

Responsibilities:

• Operate tow trucks to recover, transport, and deliver vehicles safely and efficiently.
• Respond promptly to roadside assistance calls and assist customers with vehicle-related issues.
• Perform routine inspections and maintenance of tow trucks to ensure safe and reliable operation.
• Follow all MTO regulations and towing industry standards.
• Utilize mechanical knowledge to troubleshoot minor vehicle and equipment issues.
• Operate winches and hydraulic equipment for vehicle loading and unloading.
• Complete and maintain accurate documentation, including:
  • Run sheets
  • Invoices
  • Vehicle information records
  • Recovery reports
• Adhere to all safety procedures and traffic regulations to protect team members, customers, and the public.
• Communicate effectively with dispatchers, customers, and team members to ensure smooth operations.

Requirements:

• Valid Tow Truck Driver's License (Required)
• Valid Ontario Class G Driver's License with a clean driving record.
• Experience operating a manual transmission light-duty tow truck.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
• Excellent customer service and communication abilities.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Physical ability to perform demanding tasks and work in various weather conditions.
• Automotive repair experience is considered an asset.
• Previous towing or wrecker operation experience is preferred.
