FULL TIME SERVICE ASSISTANT – 37.5 HRS/WEEK.

Senior Support Services – LLG, a non-profit charitable community support service provider invites applications for a Full Time (37.5 hr. /week) Service Assistant. Reporting to the CSS Manager, the successful candidate will be a highly motivated, self-directed and an enthusiastic individual with excellent interpersonal skills, and will relate well to clients, families, staff, volunteers, and community partners. In this position, the successful candidate will be primarily in scheduling and supporting the Respite Program and Home Help Program, as well as making wellness calls.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Scheduling, matching, and providing service to the Respite Program and Home Help Program.
  • Working with Respite workers to plan a schedule to meet client needs.
  • Administrative support to the program and Respite Caregivers by providing documentation on an ongoing basis.
  • Work with last minute cancellations and reschedule, as needed.
  • Working with families and clients to accommodate their program needs.
  • Providing support for all Community Support Programs, including but not limited to Respite, Meals on Wheels, Diners Clubs, Foot Care, Transportation and LifeLine programs as required.
  • Providing support to the clients, the managers, and the volunteers.
  • Input, update & maintain client management system (NESDA) data for Respite and Home Help program.
  • Ensures effective office and telephone public relations with clients, volunteers, and other agencies.
  • Assist other Service Assistants and staff as required.
  • Oversee the wellness call Program.
  • Other responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Certificate from a recognized Community College in Office Administration or equivalent.
  • The ability to enter and manage electronic client data within defined time frames is essential efficiently and accurately.
  • Course and/or experience in working with seniors and their families.
  • Experience with NESDA Client Management System (or similar software), preferred.
  • Strong computer skills mandatory including Microsoft Excel, Word, Internet, and Email.Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Satisfactory Criminal Record Check, and Vulnerable Sector Screening.
  • Required to provide coverage for all areas, if needed.

This position is full time (37.5 hours / week) with full benefit package. Salary range $23.22 / hour - $24.55. This position is unionized – SEIU Local 1 Canada.
