Lead Carpenter

Lagois is seeking an experienced and self-motivated Lead Carpenter to join our team. This role is ideal for a skilled carpenter who enjoys working independently, taking ownership of
projects, and delivering exceptional craftsmanship.


Reporting to the Production Manager and Site Supervisor, you will be responsible for completing a wide range of residential construction and renovation work while helping
maintain the high standards our clients expect. As the company continues to grow, there will be opportunities to take on additional leadership and crew management
responsibilities for those interested in advancing their careers.

What You’ll Do


Construction & Project Execution
• Perform a wide range of carpentry and construction activities, including framing, finishing, drywall, painting preparation, exterior work, and general renovations.
• Complete work according to project plans, specifications, building codes, and Lagois quality standards.
• Take ownership of assigned tasks and projects from start to finish.
• Maintain clean, organized, and professional jobsites.
• Identify and resolve construction challenges proactively.

Project Coordination
• Work closely with the Site Supervisor and Production Manager to keep projects moving efficiently.
• Communicate material requirements, scheduling concerns, and site issues.
• Maintain accurate project documentation, site notes, and photos.
• Coordinate with subcontractors and trade partners as required.

Client Service
• Interact professionally and respectfully with homeowners and clients.
• Support a positive project experience through clear communication and quality workmanship.

Safety
• Follow and promote safe work practices at all times.

• Maintain proper site protection, PPE usage, and jobsite organization.

• Identify and address unsafe conditions immediately.
 

What We’re Looking For
• Strong residential carpentry and renovation experience.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• High attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
• Strong problem-solving and organizational skills.
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
• Professional communication skills and a customer-focused attitude.
• Valid driver’s licence and reliable transportation.

Bonus Qualifications
• Experience coordinating projects or mentoring apprentices.
• Red Seal Carpenter certification or equivalent experience.
• First Aid, Fall Protection, and WHMIS certifications.

Working Hours
• Monday to Thursday: 7:30 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
• Friday: 7:30 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.
Additional hours may occasionally be required based on project schedules.
