D.L. Building Materials Inc., Eastern Ontario and Western Quebec’s largest specialized building materials supplier, is looking for a dynamic Boom Truck Operator to join our team in Ottawa and Gatineau!

What are we looking for? A candidate who can…

- Operate articulated crane trucks to transport materials
- Inspect loaded truck for accuracy, compliance with weight restrictions
- Maintain accurate records for submission to Fleet Office
- Loading and unloading of materials on residential & commercial jobsites
- Follow safety policies and procedures while loading, traveling and on jobsites are essential in this role.
- Ensuring safety and security
- Use GPS, atlases, and other trip planning
- Daily inspections and overseeing the condition of the truck daily (Follow a daily pre-trip inspection list)
- Oversee condition of vehicle and inspect tires, lights, brakes, and other equipment

Who are we looking for? A candidate who…

  • Hold a valid Crane & Hoisting Certificate, Class 1, driver’s license with air brake

(Q endorsement)

  • Driver’s licence (Class A Z) endorsement and valid crane operator

Certificate

- Valid crane certificate to operate cranes up to 20 tons.
- Forklift Operator and/or Fall Arrest certification will be an asset
- The candidate must be able to drive both manual & automatic trucks.
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
- Ability to read and comprehend instructions, short correspondence between truck and branch throughout the day.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divides in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
-The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 75 pounds
- Has experience in customer service
- Experience in construction an asset
