Operations Manager

Rick’s Enviromental Services & Land Clearing  is looking for an experienced, organized, and hands-on Operations Manager to oversee daily field operations, crews, equipment, scheduling, job sites, and project execution.

This role is ideal for someone with previous experience in an operations, project management, site supervisor, foreman, or similar leadership role within excavation, construction, civil work, trucking, site preparation, or heavy equipment operations.

Please note: Previous experience in a similar operations, project management, supervisory, foreman role & operating machinery is required for this position.

The Operations Manager will play a key role in keeping projects running safely, efficiently, professionally, and profitably.

Key Responsibilities

The Operations Manager will be responsible for overseeing day-to-day operations across multiple job sites, including crew coordination, scheduling, equipment allocation, material planning, and project follow-through.

Responsibilities include:

  • Plan and coordinate daily and weekly work schedules for crews and equipment
  • Oversee multiple job sites to ensure work is completed safely, efficiently, and to company standards
  • Communicate with crew leads, operators, labourers, subcontractors, suppliers, and clients
  • Ensure crews have the materials, equipment, information, and support needed to complete jobs
  • Monitor job progress, timelines, budgets, productivity, and overall project flow
  • Help resolve site issues, scheduling conflicts, and operational challenges
  • Support estimating, job planning, and project handoff from sales/estimating to field crews
  • Maintain strong communication between ownership, office staff, and field teams
  • Ensure health and safety policies and procedures are followed on all job sites
  • Monitor equipment usage, maintenance needs, repairs, and scheduling
  • Assist with hiring, training, performance management, and accountability for field staff
  • Maintain a high standard of workmanship, professionalism, and customer service
  • Identify opportunities to improve systems, workflow, efficiency, and profitability

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Previous experience in an Operations Manager, Project Manager, Site Supervisor, Foreman, or similar leadership role is required
  • Experience in excavation, construction, civil work, trucking, site preparation, or heavy equipment operations
  • Strong understanding of job site operations, equipment, materials, safety, and crew coordination
  • Ability to manage crews, schedules, equipment, suppliers, subcontractors, and client expectations
  • Ability to read job details, plans, measurements, scopes of work, and schedules
  • Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to lead teams respectfully while maintaining accountability
  • Valid driver’s licence required
  • Experience with heavy equipment, grading, drainage, septic, site prep, or excavation work is considered an asset
