Research Assistant

Location: Grenville County Historical Society (500 Railway Avenue in Prescott) 
Job Title: Research Assistant 
Salary: $17.60 per hour

Hours: Monday to Friday 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.  30hrs per week.
Start Date: June 29th, 2026
End Date: August 28th, 2026

Details: High School or University Student 18-30 years of age and must be returning to school in the fall

Job Description

Students must do work under the guidance of the volunteers:

• assist GCHS researches with research requests
• answer mail and e-mail queries, organize records, update collection inventory, catalogue artifacts
• computer data entry and record maintenance
• work with volunteers assisting them as necessary
• general housekeeping duties

Qualifications and Skills

• Must have a Social Insurance Number (SIN)
• Must be a Canadian Citizen, Permanent Resident or legally entitled to work in Canada
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and Edge
• Excellent verbal, written, and organizational skills
• Strong attention to detail
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Positive attitude and a willingness to learn
• Ability to take direction and follow through on tasks
