Administrative Assistant (2 Positions)
Summer Student – 35 Hours per Week / 8 Weeks
South Grenville Food Bank is seeking two Administrative Assistants to support daily operations in a busy non-profit environment. These positions are ideal for motivated students who enjoy working in a team setting, learning new skills, and contributing to meaningful community work.
The successful candidates will assist with administrative functions, warehouse support, and special summer projects, including support for a new canteen initiative.
Key Responsibilities
- Answer phones and assist with general inquiries
- Filing and organizing documents
- Computer data entry and record maintenance
- Create posters, notices, and promotional materials
- Create and update forms, spreadsheets, and tracking tools
- Support warehouse administration by inputting inventory and related data
- Assist with canteen project setup, organization, and tracking
- Prepare inventory sheets and supply records
- Assist with progress reports and project updates
- Provide general administrative and operational support as required
- Assisting with Fundraising tasks
Qualifications and Skills
- Must be between 15 and 30 years of age
- Must have a valid Social Insurance Number (SIN)
- Must be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or legally entitled to work in Canada
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Positive attitude and willingness to learn
- Ability to take direction and follow through on tasks
