Job Overview
Senior Support Services-LLG, a non-profit charitable community support service provider invites applications for a Casual Service Assistant. Reporting to the CSS Manager, the successful candidate will be a highly motivated, self-directed, detail oriented and enthusiastic individual with excellent customer service, interpersonal, and organizational skills; The candidate must relate well to clients, families, staff, volunteers, and community partners.
The successful candidate will be primarily responsible for:
- Provide support for all Community Support programs, including but not limited to Meals on Wheels, Diners Clubs, Foot Care, Transportation, Respite, LifeLine, and Reception.
- Provide coverage and assistance to other Service Assistant positions when required.
- Support clients, managers, staff, and volunteers with emphasis on strong customer service.
- Input, update, and maintain client management system (NESDA) data for CSS programs.
- Ensure effective office and telephone public relations with clients, caregivers, volunteers, and other agencies.
- Troubleshooting and problem solving with clients and volunteers over the phone.
- Other responsibilities as assigned.
Qualified candidates should possess:
- The ability to efficiently and accurately enter and manage electronic client data within defined time frames is essential.
- Certificate from a recognized Community College in Office Administration or equivalent administrative experience is preferred.
- Course and/or experience in working with seniors and volunteers preferred.
- Strong computer skills are mandatory including Microsoft Excel, Word, Internet, and Email.
- Strong organizational, multi-tasking, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent customer service, oral and written communication skills a must.
- Valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle are required.
This position is Casual with no guarantee of hours. The schedule will be determined by the organization based on organizational needs within operating hours, 8:00am – 4:00pm Mon-Fri.
This position is unionized – SEIU Local 1 Canada.
