310T Mechanic Position

Tackaberry Construction is a local family run business, serving eastern Ontario (Leeds & Grenville, Lanark, Frontenac County) since 1957. We have three main locations, an asphalt plant, and over 50 pits and quarries.

Our team has an immediate opening for a full-time 310T Mechanic based at our Main Office at 109 Washburn Road, Athens Ontario.

Pay: CA$30.00-CA$38.00 per hour. Placement within the range is dependent on a variety of factors including qualifications and experience.

THE ROLE

• Inspecting, diagnosing, servicing and repairing mechanical, electrical and electronic systems and components
• Maintain accurate records of repairs and maintenance performed on equipment
• Work co-operatively in the shop, as well as in the field when required
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment
• May be required to work longer hours during construction season

WHAT YOU BRING

• A Certified Technician with 310T/310S endorsement, or a 2nd/3rd level apprentice
• Previous experience working on light duty and heavy-duty road vehicles  
• Reliable and flexible
• Ability to diagnose and repair mechanical/electrical problems
• Must follow all safety procedures and maintain a safe work environment
• Valid Class G license
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
• Must possess own tools

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

• Ability to work in physically demanding conditions (such as awkward positions)
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
• Ability to walk for moderate periods, including on uneven terrain
• Ability to climb
• Standing for long periods of time
• Working in an environment with loud noises
• Ability to bend, reach, squat and/or crouch, kneel
• Mainly working inside but occasionally working outdoors
