JOB DESCRIPTION
Job Title: ReStore Director (Brockville)
Reports to: Executive Director
Compensation: $24.00 - $26.00 per hour
Job purpose:
This is an existing position responsible for providing dedicated, strategic and operational leadership for the Brockville ReStore, ensuring strong revenue performance, exceptional customer service, efficient operations, and a positive mission-aligned culture. Reporting directly to the Executive Director, this position is responsible for driving revenue growth, optimizing operational efficiency, managing staff and volunteers, and fostering community partnerships, and maintaining compliance with organizational standards and safety requirements. The role plays a key part in furthering the affiliate’s mission by ensuring the Brockville ReStore operates as a profitable, community-driven social enterprise.
Job Requirements:
•Must submit a Level 2 – Criminal Records and Judicial Matters check prior to employment as per our corporate policy.
•Valid G driver’s license and access to a reliable vehicle is required due to multi-site responsibilities as needed, approved by the Executive Director.
•Must have availability to work weekends as required.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Leadership, Strategy & Culture:
•Ensure the Executive Director is informed of any key factors affecting the Brockville ReStore.
•Collaborate closely with the Executive Director to develop and implement strategic plans and revenue targets for the Brockville ReStore operations.
•Provide executive-level reporting on sales performance, inventory, staffing, and operational challenges.
•Lead the development of long-term operational plans aligned with the affiliate’s strategic goals.
•Lead Brockville ReStore operations in alignment with Habitat for Humanity’s values and goals.
•Provide operational insights and financial updates.
•Foster a workplace culture rooted in kindness, professionalism, collaboration, and mutual respect, leading by example to build a supportive, high-performing team environment.
•Demonstrate strong team leadership skills, motivating staff and volunteers to achieve shared goals and maintain a positive, mission-driven culture.
Store Operations & Financial Management:
•Act as a spokesperson in consultation with the Executive Director, for community and media requests on Brockville ReStore business.
•The ReStore Director is accountable for all store operational duties and must effectively delegate responsibilities as needed.
•Oversee the overall day-to-day operations of the Brockville ReStore, ensuring consistency in procedures, customer service, and merchandising standards.
•Monitor and manage budgets, and ensure fiscal accountability.
•Complete accurate and timely bank deposits and reporting requirements.
•Maintain donation records and issue tax receipts upon request.
•Ensure compliance with all legal, health and safety, and Habitat for Humanity Canada operational standards.
•Establish and refine inventory control systems and pricing structures for ReStore Products.
•Coordinate deliveries and inventory replenishment, including distribution centre orders as needed.
•Ensure compliance with legal requirements governing Human Resource Management.
•Canvas local building suppliers, contractors and nearby ReStores for donations to ensure the ReStore has a steady supply of new product to display and sell to the public.
Staff & Volunteer Management
•Direct and oversee the work of ReStore volunteers.
•Provide leadership and direct supervision to staff and volunteers.
•Recruit, train, and evaluate paid staff and key volunteers, ensuring high standards in customer service and safety.
•Implement staff development plans and lead annual performance reviews.
•Foster a positive, inclusive, and mission-driven workplace culture.
•Perform appraisals of paid ReStore staff.
•Ensure compliance by volunteers and staff of adopted ReStore policies and mandates.
•Attend monthly HFHC ReStore zoom meetings, and any ReStore Committee meetings as needed.
•Provide coaching, daily task assignment, and performance feedback.
•Support training and compliance with workplace policies and safety requirements.
Donor & Community Engagement
•Collaborate with corporate sponsors, donors, suppliers, staff, and volunteers to support the mandate of the ReStore.
•Cultivate relationships with local businesses, contractors, suppliers, and donors to maintain a consistent flow of donations and sponsorships.
•Collaborate with the Manager of Fundraising and Community Connections, to increase community awareness and traffic to the ReStores.
•Utilize digital tools and platforms to enhance community engagement and visibility. The ReStore Director must be tech-savvy and proficient in Facebook, LinkedIn, and Instagram, ensuring consistent and professional representation of the Habitat brand online in collaboration with the Manager of Fundraising and Community Connections.
Administrative & Reporting
•Issue tax receipts for donors who have requested one.
•Submit monthly operational reports to the Executive Director, including detailed financials, donation, metrics, and staffing updates.
•Attend national and regional ReStore leadership meetings and share relevant updates with internal stakeholders.
•Ensure timely bank deposits, tax receipt issuance, and accurate records of donations.
•Coordinate quarterly product sales reporting to Habitat for Humanity Canada.
•Report monthly sales and income figures to the bookkeeper.
•Report to distribution centre the values of items received from Habitat for Humanity Canada.
•Order, when stock is needed, a truck load of goods from the distribution centre.
•Assist with staff evaluations and documented compliance processes.
Health, Safety & Compliance
•Follow the Occupational Health and Safety National Program Manual procedures.
•Ensure all staff and volunteers have appropriate and current certificates, licences, and health and safety training to do their jobs. i.e., WHMIS or forklift certificate
•Lead the enforcement of the Occupational Health and Safety National Program Manual.
•Champion a safety-first culture and conduct routine compliance audits.
•Ensure adherence to Habitat Canada standards and all applicable safety regulations.
•Actively promote and enforce a safety-first environment.
Qualifications:
•Minimum 5 years of retail management or supervisory experience required.
•Proven success in team leadership, budget management, and revenue growth.
•Strong analytical, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
•Ability to problem-solve and make sound decisions under pressure.
•Exceptional communication and stakeholder engagement abilities.
•Passion for Habitat for Humanity’s mission and values.
•Demonstrated kindness and emotional intelligence in leadership and conflict resolution.
•Competent in reporting, technology tools, and POS systems.
•Proven ability to lead diverse teams with empathy and accountability.
•Proficiency with social media platforms (Facebook, LinkedIn, Instagram) and general digital tools used for communication, reporting, and marketing.
•Valid Criminal Records check required.
Working conditions:
•Requires some travel between ReStore locations in Brockville and Kemptville, with occasional evening and weekend events outside of office hours.
•Steel-toe boots certified with the CSA green triangle required.
•Retail environment requiring standing, walking, lifting, and regular customer interactions.
•Physical Requirements:
•Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 lbs.
