North Grenville is recruiting for 9 (nine) Seasonal (Winter) Contract Equipment Operators to work within the Public Works Department.

Situated between Canada’s National Capital - Ottawa and the St. Lawrence River, North Grenville offers a unique urban experience with a blend of small town and rural culture. North Grenville is a growing municipality located in eastern Ontario comprised of an urban centre (Kemptville) and surrounded by several charming rural hamlets.

Only a 30-minute drive along the Veterans Memorial Highway (416), to either Ottawa or the 401 Corridor, providing ease of travel. Alternatively, for a more leisure journey, North Grenville offers the historic Rideau River managed by Parks Canada.

 Application:

The Municipality of North Grenville is seeking to fill 9 (nine) Seasonal Winter Contract Equipment Operator positions (Winter Control and Maintenance, November 24th 2025, to April 5, 2026) in its Public Works Department.

Responsibilities:

Reporting to the Roads Foreman, the Seasonal Winter Contract Equipment Operator is responsible for performing winter maintenance/control activities of the road and sidewalk system by operating snowplows, sand/salt trucks, sidewalk equipment and winter control machinery and equipment as assigned.

The position will provide excellent customer service and ensure a positive image of the Municipality while conducting maintenance and control activities of the property

Qualifications:

The position requires a Valid Class “DZ” Driver’s license and driver's abstract in good standing. A proven ability through a minimum of three (3) years’ experience in the operation of roads maintenance/construction equipment, such as a road grader and/or backhoe and/ or loader.

Compensation:

The salary for this position is $29.12 to $36.39 per hour based on a 40 (forty) hour work week. Will require after-hours work, including evenings and/or weekends as necessary.
