Flagger/Traffic Control Person (Seasonal)

Tackaberry Construction is a local, family run business, serving eastern Ontario since 1957, offering competitive wages with group benefits. We are currently seeking Flaggers for various jobsites in the Leeds and Grenville/Lanark area. These are seasonal positions with a starting rate of $20.00/hour. Hours will vary according to business demand and weather conditions.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Using hand signals and direction signs to direct traffic through road construction sites
• Communicating with other flaggers using hand-held radios to direct two-way traffic onto a single lane
• Informing the construction crew of any traffic issues that may affect their safety
• Appropriately positioning warning and detour signs around construction sites
• Working with the construction team to establish safe movement of traffic around construction zones, in accordance with safety regulations

Requirements:

• Valid driver’s license with reliable transportation
• Ability to stand for long periods of time
• Ability to work under harsh weather conditions
• Courteous and respectful communication with the public
• Reliable and consistent attendance is essential for this role
