Leadership & Strategic Direction:
Provide visionary leadership and direction to the hospice, ensuring alignment with
the mission, vision, and values of the organization.
Work with the Board of Directors to develop and implement the strategic plan and
ensure the hospice is meeting its goals.
Lead and inspire a dedicated team of healthcare professionals, volunteers, and
administrative staff.
Operational Management:
Oversee the day-to-day operations of the hospice program, ensuring high-quality,
patient-centered care is consistently delivered.
Ensure compliance with all local, provincial, and federal regulations/standards
related to hospice care.
Develop and manage the budget, ensuring financial sustainability and responsible
stewardship of resources.
Community Relations & Fundraising:
Act as the primary ambassador for the hospice, representing the organization within
the local community and beyond.
Cultivate relationships with local organizations, healthcare providers, and community
leaders to raise awareness of hospice services.
Lead fundraising efforts, including grant writing, donor relations, and special events,
to support the organization’s mission and financial goals.
Staff & Volunteer Management:
Hire, train, and evaluate key personnel to ensure a highly skilled and compassionate
team.
Staff performance management.
Foster a supportive and collaborative work environment for staff and volunteers.
Promote ongoing professional development and training for all team members.
Program Development & Quality Improvement:
Continuously assess and improve the quality of care provided to clients and families.
Evaluate services routinely to ensure they are of the highest standard and meeting
community needs.
Innovate and implement new programs or services to meet the evolving needs of the
rural community.

 

Qualifications:


A University or college degree in Health Administration, Social Work, Nursing, or a
related field preferred.
A minimum of 3 years of leadership experience, preferably in healthcare
administration, or non-profit management.
Experience working in a rural healthcare setting is highly desirable.
Strong knowledge of hospice regulations, accreditation standards, and best
practices in end-of-life care.
Proven ability to manage budgets, fundraising, and financial planning.
Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability
to build relationships and collaborate with diverse stakeholders.
A passion for serving patients and families in a compassionate, community-
driven way.
Ability to work effectively in a rural setting and navigate the unique challenges of
rural healthcare.
Privacy Officer Training or willingness to obtain would be an asset
