Employment Consultant

CSE Consulting is currently seeking a motivated, compassionate, goal-driven employee to join our team! CSE is hiring a full-time Employment Consultant based out of our Kemptville office. The Employment Consultant will manage an assigned caseload of clients and provide a range of supports to both clients and their employers to ensure sustained employment. They will develop a positive relationship with clients, motivating and supporting them to achieve sustainable employment and increase self-sufficiency. The Employment Consultant will work with various client groups facing multiple barriers to employment, ensuring successful outcomes while meeting contract deliverables. Preference will be given to candidates experienced working with diverse groups and vulnerable populations, as well as certifications and/or education related to employment services, job development, and human services. Case Management Duties

  • Work one-on-one with clients, including those diverse and vulnerable, to determine their employment and/or training needs
  • Develop and maintain relationships with community stakeholders and employers as part of generating and managing client referrals
  • Maintain timely and accurate client records, monitor, evaluate and report client progress following Ministry-prescribed documents and processes
  • Conduct assessments to understand and document the client’s employment-related strengths, needs, abilities, and skills
  • Develop individualized employment action plans to support the client’s journey to securing long-term employment
  • Provide pre-employment assistance through vocational advice, job search training, skills development and work preparation
  • Continually review the local labour market to identify and pursue suitable employment opportunities
  • Assist client with awareness and referral to community resources in support of life stabilization prior to and during employment journey
  • Provide monitoring/support for both clients and employers on the job and facilitate interventions as required, e.g., job coaching, accommodations, training, etc.
  • Assist the client and/or employer to resolve issues that may impact employment retention
  • Provide services in a manner that is welcoming, safe and professional and ensure that client privacy is protected
  • Promote and facilitate itinerant employment services to communities where the need is identified
  • Organize and facilitate employment, life skills and training-related workshops, as required
  • Attend community and program-related meetings and events when requested
  • Support walk-in clients as required including covering the front during lunch hours
  • Respect and follow CSE Consulting's Policies and Procedures

Qualifications

  • Post-secondary diploma/degree in a related field, or a combination of related education and work experience
  • Experience coaching and mentoring clients and working with individuals facing complex barriers
  • Strong case management, documentation, data entry, report writing, and digital literacy skills
  • Knowledge of the local labour market, community resources, government programs, job search techniques, career development and issues related to unemployment, various careers and occupations and their job requirements
  • Adhere to guidelines set out in government-funded programs and achieve individual and team targets
  • Ability to prioritize a busy schedule with back-to-back meetings
  • Solid understanding of confidentiality and professional codes of conduct
  • Possession of a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation; travel throughout Leeds-Grenville may be required
  • Flexibility to work inter-office as required
  • Employment conditional on obtaining a criminal record check

To be considered an asset:

  • Knowledge of Employment Ontario Programming & EOIS CaMS/CaseFLO
  • Bilingualism

Salary commensurate with experience, ranging from  $24-25/hour for a 37.5-hour work week.
