Mobilization Job Description
- Work safely and follow all our health and safety policies
- Always be polite around clients
- Have a clean Driver’s Abstract
- Show up on time and stay late if needed to complete your list. The site must be ready for the next trade before you leave.
- Be positive
- Be dependable
- Keep vehicle clean, organized and stocked. Request oil changes and maintenance as required. Our vehicles are traveling billboards and must be driven with that in mind. Speeding, unsafe or aggressive driving will not be tolerated.
- Inform Manager of any vehicle problems immediately and complete the vehicle maintenance form.
- LBC apparel is provided and required to be worn. You are to always look professional and represent LBC professionally.
- Make sure all job sites are clean and Maintain Signage and Mail box.
- Report any trade contractor “messes” to our Site Supervisors
- Help other construction departments as required. This includes helping with septic system installations, siding, framing and finishing.
- Report any site safety issues to our Site supervisor immediately. Remedy when possible.
- Start, maintain and complete a “Mobilization Job Site Requirements and Check List” form for each project and keep in the Mobilization Job Check List Binder. Review and update these forms during each site visit. This check list forms part of your job description. Keep written notes of what is working well and what needs to be improved and provide to the Construction Manager at the completion of each project. These notes will be reviewed in our Project Debrief Meetings and actionable items will be written into our processes and communicated at our weekly meetings.
- Reach out to the Site Supervisor before you start each new project to review what is expected and what tasks you will be responsible for. They will discuss site / project specific items for you to log in your notes and complete.
- Complete the tasks on the “Mobilization Weekly Check List”. This checklist forms part of your job description.
- Reach out to site supervisor before leaving your site to update them in real time and make sure there was not something else that needed done.
- Complete the Spring and Fall Check Lists. These check lists form part of your job description.
- Pick up and return the Mobilization vehicle each day at our office
Be able to work and schedule your time independently to go to all the job sites regularly and clean up with regular check ins with our Site Supervisors. Be sure to check in with the site supervisor before you head to their project to make sure you are both on the same page. Regular communication is the key to your success and the success of our projects.
Tool Maintenance and Storing
Everything has a place and everything needs to be put back in its place. Every time.
- Make sure you remove all item that should not freeze from your vehicle at each stop in the winter. These should be stored in containers that are convenient to move around and store in the cab of the Mobilization vehicle if needed.
- Maintain your vehicle inventory
- Maintain your tools and equipment.
- Your generator should be started and run at least once a month and fuel stabilizer used if it is not being used regularly. The oil is to be changed every 40 hours of usage.
Yard and Compound
- Everything has a place and everything needs to be put back in its place. Every time.
- Band up loose Styrofoam to keep in place during wind storms. Band in 10 sheet bundles. Remaining pile (less than 10) to be weighted down in anticipation of a strong wind.
- Safety Alert - Look at all piles of beams in the lumber racks to ensure that all has a min of 3/4" spacers and any reclaimed beams higher than the bottom rack is banded.
- Actively look for things out of place and correct them. Also, make note of them to discuss with the construction manager.
