 The Service Writer reports to the Service Manager and helps with the goal of offering industry leading customer service through top notch organization skills and communication with clients.

Responsibilities:

1) First point of contact for clients looking for service: first to answer the phone and first to greet walk-in clients.

2) Work Orders are a primary concern, with great attention to detail required:

     a) Listening and recording client needs and issues they are experiencing so the service manager does not have to call back for further detail.

     b) Add needed parts to the work order to increase technician efficiency.

     c) Get work order changes/details back from technicians and make all changes in the software system.

     d) Close work orders within an acceptable time frame.

3) Meet daily with the Service Manager to go over present and forward scheduling of technician time. To be able to maintain a service schedule program for the service manager and to be able to ensure its accuracy. To communicate said schedule with the parts manager in order for parts picking to be done in advance of the work order.

4) To ensure that operators manuals and items required for the delivery of new products are at the ready in advance of the delivery time.

5) With direction from the Service Manager, pro-actively communicate with clients the service schedule for pick up/delivery of their equipment, helping to ensure that trucking is well organized, accurate and efficient.

6) Soft sell service specials and programs to customers, as per seasonal changes.

7) In time, and at the discretion of the service manager, to learn to input warranty work orders.

8) To motivate, support and encourage team spirit with colleagues.

9) To aid the service manager in any administrative functions that may be required.

Requirements:

1) Able to work full time hours including every other Saturday morning.

2) A positive attitude and a willingness to learn.

3) Comfortable with computers and willing to learning industry-specific software.

4) Strong communication skills with front-line customer service experience. Showing a willingness to interact with customers on the phone, in person and online.

5) Ability to work in a shop job environment that is sometimes cool or warm, clean or dirty.

Basic knowledge of farm equipment and/or experience on a farm is an asset but not essential. Bilingualism (English/French) is an asset but not essential.

Hours of Work:

8:00am - 5:00pm, Monday through Friday                                                                                                                                                                  8:00am - 12:00pm, every other Saturday
