Seniors’ Community Services is seeking a qualified and experienced individual to join our team for a permanent full-time position as Program Coordinator. If you share our enthusiasm to support aging well, we have a place for you.
Program Coordinator (On-Site)
37.5 hours weekly;
Program Coordinator - Meals on Wheels, Diner’s Club,
37.5 hours weekly; Monday – Friday 8:30 – 4:30 p.m.
Responsibilities:
- Support clients and the public with information and assistance.
- Promote and maintain a high standard of customer service that is client focused.
- Ensure the smooth operation of client service programs: Meals on Wheels, Diner’s Club, Going Home Program working in conjunction with the volunteer coordinator to optimize volunteer time to support programming.
- Perform administrative duties associated with this role, including data entry, maintaining statistics, scheduling, and registrations.
- Participate in continuous quality improvement processes.
- Participate in fundraising activities, as appropriate.
What You Bring to the Team:
- A degree or diploma in recreation/gerontology or a related field.
- A minimum of 3 - 5 years of working experience in a related field.
- First Aid and CPR Certification or willingness to complete.
- Safe Food Handling Certificate or willingness to complete.
Skills and Personal Traits:
- Strong team player, self-starter, positive attitude with a willingness to learn and develop.
- Exceptional attention to detail, priority management, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong administrative and computer skills; proficient with Microsoft suite of products.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with expert, courteous telephone etiquette.
- Knowledge of local Community Support Services.
- Ability to communicate effectively in English (verbal and written).
Mandatory Requirements:
- The candidate must obtain an acceptable Vulnerable Sector Check (VSC) from their local police detachment.
- Completion of legislated workplace health and safety online training will be required before the start date as a condition of employment.
- Access to a vehicle and possessing a valid driver’s license is an asset.
