Business Context
HFI has a history stretching back 147 years – originally a manufacturer of fireworks, we are now totally focused on being the Centre of Excellence for Defence and Security Pyrotechnics. We are the new 5th member of Canada's Munitions Supply Program, and we have a growing range of products and services and customers from around the world. HFI is on the ascent, and we are looking for a Maintenance Technician to help support the expansion of our business.
Your Challenge
As part of HFI's Facilities / Maintenance team, your role will be to ensure that our equipment is operational and site buildings are maintained for production use, along with other duties as required.
Meeting Your Challenge
To meet your challenge, your abilities and experience will need to include:
1. Perform daily facility maintenance tasks as required
2. Verification after work completion
3. Execute planned tasks
4. Care of HFIs vehicles, site grounds, and equipment (fencing, landscaping, snow removal)
5. Strong trouble shooting skills
6. Strong problem solving skills
7. Find, report, and fix defects
8. Knowledge and use of hand tools and power tools
9. Knowledge of mechanical systems an asset
10. Knowledge of pneumatic systems an asset
11. Knowledge of hydraulics an asset
12. Knowledge of carpentry an asset
13. Knowledge of masonry an asset
14. Work independently and as part of a team
15. Site appearance (all seasons)
16. Organizational skills
17. Multitasking abilities
18. Communication skills (oral, listening, and documentation)
19. Flexible to overtime as required
20. Self manageable
21. Class G drivers’ licence
22. Maintain Plant maintenance on HVAC, Humidification
23. Able to wear proper PPE as required
24. Ability to work outdoors in all conditions (within reason)
25. Able to work in a fast-paced environment
