The Spencerville Mill Foundation is offering employment opportunities for students with strong communication skills and outgoing personality to work as historical interpreters and program assistants this summer. We are interested in students with a keen interest in history and confidence in greeting the public. Experience or special interest in history, social science, journalism, marketing, curatorial or museum studies or other related f ields. Besides offering guided tours of the Mill and its exhibits, historical interpreters will participate in a research project (such as local family histories) and carry out daily housekeeping and gardening tasks. Staff will wear period dress (provided) while on duty.

Spencerville Mill & Museum is a unique, historic place to work offering valuable experience for personal growth and an opportunity to explore career possibilities.

Wage: based on grant funding
Hours: full time, including weekends. Occasionally evening work.
Start: late June/early July
End: late Aug (up to 9 weeks) Not to exceed 280 hours.

Due to grant criteria candidates must be aged 15 to 30.
