Job Title: Monday to Friday Temp Timekeeping Specialist (37.5 hours per week)
Location: Cardinal, Ontario
Job Type: Temporary, Full-Time- reporting to HR Manager on site.
Job Summary: The Cardinal Plant is seeking a detail-oriented and reliable temporary timekeeping specialist to join our team. This temporary position will support the payroll department in ensuring accurate and timely processing of payroll for all employees. The ideal candidate will have experience in payroll processing (ADP Globalview), UKG(Kronos)understanding, strong organizational skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Familiar working with Union contracts.
Key Responsibilities:
· Assist in the preparation, review of time and processing of both a weekly & a bi-weekly payroll for all plant employees.
· Main point of contact for Supervisors when payroll issues arise.
· Ensure accurate time and payroll data, including hours worked, overtime, and deductions.
· Verify and reconcile payroll discrepancies and resolve issues promptly.
· Complete audits weekly between time keeping system and balancing reports from payroll.
· Collaborate with Center of Excellence and Shared Services for processing of accurate time and pay.
· Assist with the preparation of time and pay reports and summaries for management.
· Respond to employee inquiries regarding payroll and resolve any related issues.
· Document standard operating procedures for payroll both hourly and salaried.
· Perform other administrative tasks as needed to support the department.
Qualifications:
· High school diploma or equivalent; associate’s or bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field would be an asset but not required.
· Previous experience in payroll processing or a related role required.
· Proficiency in payroll software and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
· Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
· Excellent organizational and time management skills.
· Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
· Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
· Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Working Conditions:
· Office environment within the Cardinal plant.
· Full-time temporary position.
