The Village of Merrickville-Wolford requires an Full-time Equipment Operator. The successful candidate will report to the Manager of Operations/Fire Chief and will be part of the Public Works team. The candidate will be expected to possess good communication and public relations skills.

The successful candidate will also:

  •        Hold an Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD) at a minimum.
  •        Have a minimum DZ license with clean driving record and/or abstract and the ability to perform physical tasks. They               should also have a proven record of safe operation, security and management of equipment, vehicles, and supplies.
  •        Be able to operate a grader, backhoe, loader, tandem axle truck, single axle truck and/or other equipment, safely and in         accordance with all the policies, procedures, by-laws, Ministry guidelines, regulations, and legislation.
  •        Perform general maintenance and manual labour functions including but not limited to culvert cleaning, litter pick-up,             grass cutting, weed trimming, sanding, plowing, cold mix patching, traffic control and sign installation.

 

The successful candidate will also be required to have a current OPP security check and a valid Driver's license. Pay range is $26.27 – $31.96 per hour.
