Residential Construction Coordinator/Project Manager
Reporting to the Senior Project Manager and CEO, you would be responsible for the following:
Residential construction expertise in meeting with prospective clients and providing ideas, solutions and quotations for custom home construction & renovations and to plan & oversee the project.
Prepare and execute contracts by calculating correct costs for project-specific goods and services; gather information from subcontractors & vendors and presenting proposals to clients.
Devise, enhance and communicate deliverable timelines; review and co-ordinate project requirements and resources to make accurate assessments based on contractual scope of work.
Coordinate working drawings and designs based on accurate site measurements and client needs, that will comply with the Ontario Building Codes.
Manage and administer phases of projects for company records; follow up with subcontractors and clients to ensure project deliverables are completed on time.
Accurately manage and maintain employee and subcontractor hours; allocating personnel to appropriate job sites.
Regularly reconcile invoices and quotes from subcontractors and vendors, ensuring that all costs are within budget and are in the scope with agreements and contracts.
Prepare/coordinate material purchase and change orders for subcontractors.
Manage, evaluate and find solutions of potential field problems, referring them to the Senior Project Manager.
Provide assistance to other Team members as required.
Other duties as assigned within the scope, spirit and purpose of the job, as requested by management.
Job Requirements
Completion of Civil Engineering Technician course, or equivalent.
Knowledge in wood frame construction.
Experience in residential interiors and exteriors in both renovations and new construction.
Effective communication, management and leadership skills in fostering and maintaining positive relationships with existing and new clients, consultants, subcontractors and fellow team members. Solid team player with positive attitude.
Familiar with legal requirements, especially Health & Safety to ensure compliance.
Experience in understanding scopes of work and ability to create & interpret construction working drawings.
Strong mathematical aptitude; problem solving skills; coordination & organization.
Ability to maintain an overview of entire projects while continuing to attend to detailed technicalities.
Minimum of 5 years work experience in this field of expertise.
Valid drivers licence required.
