The Lighthouse - Le Phare is a growing mental health practice with office locations in Kemptville and Kingston, Ontario. We offer counselling, psychotherapy and neurofeedback services for groups, individuals, couples and families, children and youth. We are committed to the wellbeing of individuals in our communities and offer a warm and compassionate approach. 

We are seeking to add a Neurofeedback Technician to our growing team. You will be working with a varied mental health clientele, including clients who struggle with symptoms of depression, anxiety, ADHD, post-traumatic stress and trauma, and traumatic brain injury. You will also work with clients such as students, athletes, and professionals who are seeking to optimize brain functioning and performance. 

Minimum Qualification Requirement 

  • Bachelor’s degree in health sciences, or psychology 
  • Basic understanding of neuroanatomy, neurophysiology and neurofeedback 
  • Willingness to complete technical training (provided by The Lighthouse - Le Phare) and engage in ongoing professional development 
  • Criminal Record Check (vulnerable sector) Bilingualism (English/ French) preferred 

Other requirements Available for a minimum 10 hours a week with the potential to increase to up to 30-35, with a contract duration period of one year (renewable). 

Location of work: 222 Prescott Street, Kemptville, ON. Hours Work hours and schedule will vary depending on client demand and The Lighthouse - Le Phare needs and include some evenings and/or weekends. Neurofeedback services are provided in-person following Covid-19 safety precautions. 

Job Duties and Responsibilities

You will be responsible for managing your Neurofeedback client caseload from the initial client contact and needs assessment through completion of services, including:

  • Providing in-person neurofeedback services in accordance with NeurOptimal Certification training
  • Responding to clients’ inquiries and requests for service within 24 hours by providing information and assessing needs, booking appointments and delivering in-person services.
  • Maintaining professional documentation, in the form of, but not limited to: recording each client contact, documenting progress with forms provided, and maintaining billing records.
  • Collaborating as needed with other staff members in coordinating client care and provide referrals to outside agencies as appropriate. • Maintaining client confidentiality
  • Charge and collect payments from clients for services provided

Personal qualities 

  • You are personable and calm, and enjoy contact with clients while maintaining strong professional boundaries. 
  • You have a keen interest in mental health and an understanding of wholistic approaches to treating mental health concerns. 
  • You have an appreciation for the art and science of healing and wellness. 
  • You have excellent written and verbal communication skills and are experienced in keeping accurate record-keeping. 
  • You are self-aware, capable of working independently and asking for help when needed, and keen to collaborate with other care providers. 

Compensation

We offer flexible hours, and a compensation of $18-20 per hour commensurate with experience, with a potential for a performance-based bonus.
