Retail and Warehouse Team Members

House of Lazarus is a not-for-profit outreach mission which operates a social enterprise thrift store business that supports our outreach programs.  We have several retail and warehouse positions to fill at our Mountain location as a number of our team members are pursuing educational studies in the Fall. Our rates of pay are competitive. House of Lazarus offers paid sick days and personal days each year. Retail Team: up to 37.5 hours a week in our retail stores

The successful applicant will:

• Be motivated to optimise the retail sales
• Operate a cash register
• Greet customers and advise of any sales or special promotions
• Work with volunteers
• Ensure merchandise is priced and displayed
• Keep work areas clean and organized
• Interact with customers and clients of the mission with efficiency, dignity, and respect
• Endorse strategies to minimize loss prevention

Warehouse Team: 37.5 hours a week

The successful applicant will:

• Sort and organize donated items including preparing store ready stock, recycling, garbage and pricing following HoL policies and procedures
• Ensure standards of health and safety are met
• Ensure that the warehouse is clean and organized
• Distribute inventory to retail shops
• Assist with the security of HOL’s assets
• Assist customers and clients with carry outs
• Load and unload trucks

Qualifications for these positions:

• high school diploma or GED is considered an asset
• excellent communication skills
• strong interpersonal skills
• excellent organizational skills
• criminal reference check
• ability to lift up to 40lbs
• ability to work in a team environment
• ability to work evenings and Saturdays
