Education: Secondary school diploma complete or in progress, Students welcome No post secondary education necessary
Experience: Communication, reading and writing skills. Knowledge/experience with the use of table saw, compound miter saw, planers/ jointer or similar equipment. Use of band saw sawmill and/or relative work history in the lumber business an asset, including chainsaw experience
Tasks: Handling materials to assist in the maintenance of facility and infrastructure. Maintain tidy, organized, clean work area. Manage waste and package by-products for sale. Other duties as assigned Follow company safety protocols.
Weight Handling: Physical stamina to lift/carry 80 pounds
Work Setting: Sawmill Outdoors, all weather
Own Equipment: Steel-toed safety boots
Work Site Environment: Noisy; Dusty
Transportation/Travel Information: Own transportation Drivers License, if 16+ years old
Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities: Repetitive tasks; Handling heavy loads; Physically demanding; Manual dexterity; Attention to detail; Hand-eye co-ordination; Standing for extended periods. Labouring includes climbing, lifting, balancing, kneeling, walking.
Personal Suitability: Team player Coachable, able to follow instructions and take direction
