Job Title: Project Coordinator, Digital Literacy
Reports to: Chief Executive Officer

The North Grenville Public Library (NGPL) is hiring a short-term part-time Project Coordinator to kickstart its Digital Literacy programming. The Project Coordinator will be responsible for various aspects of setting up the NGPL’s new Tech Buddies and Coding for Kids programs, from the initial planning and recruitment of volunteers, to the promotion and running of the workshops/clinics.

Tech Buddies will offer a series of "tech clinics", where seniors and older adults with technology questions can team up with youth volunteers with know-how. Seniors will be able to bring their devices and get hands-on help right in the library. Coding for Kids will offer workshops led by volunteer local experts, where children can learn to do simple programming using coding boards and programmable robots at the library.

This position would be ideal for a post-secondary student/graduate looking to develop leadership skills in a meaningful community setting. Technical skills are needed: the candidate should be experienced in using a variety of personal technologies, platforms and apps, and understand the challenges and opportunities presented by today’s technologies. Strong writing and communication skills are also essential, along with a customer service orientation. The candidate must be comfortable leading a small group of volunteers and working with people of various ages, including seniors.

The project start date is flexible and can be carried out over a few months, with completion on or before March 31, 2020. The position is funded for a total of 150 hours, with some remote work possible, at a pay rate of $22.08 per hour.
