Fleurish Cannabis- Plant/Cultivation Technician (Full Time)

Location: Kemptville, ON

Hourly Permanent Role

We are looking for a Plant/Cultivation Technician to join our growing team within the cannabis sector with an exclusive focus on female health & wellness. We exist to help women feel their best. We believe that cannabis is perfectly suited for women’s unique wellness needs. We are seeking Plant/Cultivation Technicians to join our rapidly expanding team. The ideal candidate will have demonstrated experience in a labour position, ideally in an ACMPR environment. Cultivators will report to the Supervisor and must be flexible with shiftwork and comfortable working in greenhouse working conditions. Successful candidates will have a strong work ethic and precise attention to detail.

Duties & responsibilities

  • Taking direction from the Supervisor to learn how to prepare for events before, during and after each major activity
  • Learn and understand Standard Operating Procedure (SOP’s), Health Canada Regulations and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) principles, along with Good Documentation Practices (GDP)
  • Learn how to safely and effectively set-up, operate and take-down all Production equipment
  • Learn how to sanitize and set-up all production materials required for cloning, transplanting, up-potting de-leafing and harvesting
  • Learn how to properly remove waste material such as root-balls, foliar application waste and cannabis waste
  • Ability to work within a team or unsupervised
  • Participate in various production activities and coordination of grow operations for designated plant growth stages
  • Frequently monitor environmental control levels, including temperature, humidity, moisture as well as water and nutrition levels
  • Daily inspection of plants to ensure there are no infections or pathogens
  • Move cannabis between production environments in an efficient and sanitary manner
  • Record and maintain production records and ensure compliance with Health Canada regulations; document plant progression through life cycles
  • Ensure all equipment and rooms (grow, processing, dry and production rooms) have been cleaned and sterilized according to SOPs and ACMPR requirements; re-stocking & facility maintenance
  • Assist with plant and production inventory counts as required
  • Communicate issues with management in a timely manner
  • Other duties as assigned by management

Qualifications and Education:

  • Grade 12 diploma; Diploma in Horticulture or equivalent would be an asset. However, an interest in plants and their maintenance is a must
  • Experience in a regulated and highly compliant environment is desired (i.e. food industry, pharmaceutical)
  • Previous cultivation and labor experience; MMAR/ACMPR experience considered an asset;
  • Must have the ability to obtain security clearance per Cannabis Act
  • Ability to develop a solid understanding of cultivation and production techniques, under ACMPR guidelines
  • Must be able to lift to 40lbs
  • Ability to be flexible and work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
  • Knowledge of cannabis plant anatomy, strains, pathogens and infections is an asset
  • Multi-tasking; attention to detail in skilled & precision work; exceptional organizational and time management skills to ensure consistency of product
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to thrive in a team environment as well as independently
  • Ability to stay focused and complete redundant and routine tasks
  • Basic computer & math skills a must
  • Must have own reliable transportation
