Job Description: IT Technician

O'Farrell Financial Services Inc. is looking for an IT professional to join our growing team. Your role will be a combination of remote helpdesk works and onsite visits.  Be responsible for the operations of our IT Equipment networked with 5 locations and growing. You will be required to provide excellent service and technical knowledge to our team in an efficient and professional manner. Resourceful and knowledge of networking, of current hardware and software is a must.

Experience Required

  • College diploma in a related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Providing general IT support for level 1 and level 2 requests to our team remotely or onsite
  • Network administration and security (2 years of experience)
  • Microsoft Server in a domain environment (2 years of experience)
  • Computer troubleshooting skills, diagnosis and repair of hardware and software issues (5 years of experience)
  • Troubleshoot network issues; Installing various types of network infrastructure equipment (switches, routers, servers, modems, wireless switches and access points, security camera, security systems, network addressing) and installing software as required
  • *General Maintenance shall include but is not limited to:
  • Complete maintenance of network servers including applications
  • Installation of relevant hotfixes, service packs and updates as needed
  • Monitoring and checking event logs, memory, processors, available hard drive space, antivirus signature levels etc.
  • Maintenance of network workstations: installations of critical security patches
  • Maintenance of network firewall
  • Maintenance of anti-virus, malware & antispam system
  • Maintenance of back-up system.
  • Configuring and setting up workstations and printers
  • Configuring our clouded phone system and the administration of
  • Experience working with a ticketing system
  • Strict attention to detail required
  • Strong prioritization skills are a must
  • Must be willing to travel within Eastern Ontario to our office locations and must have own vehicle and valid driver’s license
  • Document and communicate services rendered to our team in a timely manner
  • Performs other tasks based on management requirements and instruction
  • Work in a fast-paced environment; work under pressure; repetitive tasks; tight deadlines initiative, accurate, team player, excellent written communication, judgment, organized

 Technical Requirements

  • Strong knowledge of Windows 7-10 OS
  • Experience with Microsoft Server Platforms
  • Experience with Office 365 and Office 2010-2019
  • Experience with Antivirus software and backup strategies
  • Experience with Sonicwall, Cisco or Fortinet Firewalls
  • Knowledge of established IT policies and procedures of the University in areas such as procurement and asset management and maintenance.
  • Experience with operating systems to install, diagnose and repair issues; ability to support large user groups
  • Experience in the implementation of system upgrades
  • Ability to communicate technical knowledge and information to a nontechnical audience
  • Analytical skills to diagnose and repair software, hardware and peripherals issues

Salary: $40,000 - $60,000
