HFI is a manufacturer of military and consumer pyrotechnic devices. We currently make devices that smoke, flare or make noise.  Our products are manufactured in the Prescott area. We are a company that focuses on the process of continuous improvement through lean manufacturing concepts.

ROLE:              Chemical Lab Technologist
Member of:      Quality Team
Reports to:       Quality Manager
Schedule:         Full Time (Days); 8 hour shift; 7:30am – 4pm
Status:              New Position (Currently Vacant)

Key Responsibilities*:

  1. Set up and conduct chemical experiments, tests and analyses using techniques such as chromatography, spectroscopy, physical and chemical separation techniques and microscopy
  2. Assist in the design, fabrication, and procurement of experimental apparatus.
  3. Operate and maintain laboratory equipment and apparatus; establish preventive maintenance plans
  4. Plan for renewal of lab equipment
  5. Ownership of LabView/Flexlogger for Vibration and performance testing in lab
  6. Support macros written in excel or other software to support quality testing and data analysis.
  7. Prepare solutions of gas or liquid, reagents, and sample formulations
  8. Compile records and interpret experimental or analytical results
  9. Develop and conduct programs of sampling and analysis to maintain quality standards of raw materials, chemical intermediates and products
  10. Assist in the development of chemical engineering processes
  11. Assist in the prototyping and testing processes for product development activities
  12. Operate and supervise pilot plant activity
  13. Assist in development of standards, health and safety measures for lab and pilot production areas.

Qualifications and skills:

Chemical Engineering Technologist (College or University), OR chemistry (with Technologist experience), OR significant work experience as instrumentation and analytical lab tech
