Shop/Field Laborer

The Shop/Field Laborer is an entry level position with great opportunity for advancement! You are responsible for performing tasks related to the preparation, testing, shipping, receiving and upkeep of Aquatech’s fleet of specialized dewatering and bypass pumping systems, water treatment systems and all associated components including advanced remote environmental monitoring instrumentation. You will be working primarily at our Ottawa branch however there may be some travel required for this position.
Job Responsibilities:
Load/unload all equipment deliveries/returns.
Follow standard operating procedures for equipment handling, testing, release and return processes.
Prepare and test equipment and components to be shipped to a project.
Inspect, maintain, and restock equipment returned from a project.
Assist as required to perform delivery or service of equipment or material.
Assist, when necessary, in pump watch activities.
Keep work areas in the shop/yard organized.
Travel to various jobsites within Ontario a requirement for this position.
Qualifications and Required Experience:
Warehouse/Shop experience a requirement
Attention to detail and quality workmanship
Strong reading and mathematical skills
Strong oral and written communication skills are essential
Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds frequently and on a daily basis
Uninhibited ability to stand, walk, bend, squat, push, pull, reach and grasp
Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions
Water/Wastewater/Civil/ Mechanical Engineering or related (OIT a strong asset)
Valid Class G Driver’s License in good standing
Forklift Certification preferred
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Salary: $18.00-$25.00 per hour
