Engineer

At Morey Associates Ltd. Consulting Engineers, we provide multi-disciplinary engineering services, including geotechnical, hydrogeological, environmental, structural, civil and materials testing and inspection for our clients’ land development and construction projects. Based in Kemptville, Ontario, we are a small firm with extensive experience working on varied projects in the Ottawa and eastern Ontario area.

We are currently seeking an Engineer to join our team. As a member of Morey Associates Ltd., your responsibilities will be multi-disciplined, with a focus on geotechnical investigations, hydrogeological studies and environmental site assessments. We are looking for a mature individual with a strong and self-motivated work ethic, who is adaptable to varying project deadlines and who is collaborative in a team environment. The successful candidate will need to “hit the ground running” and should be well suited to the company’s culture of self accountability and preparedness.

Engineer Qualifications and Experience Needed:

• Licensed P.Eng. (Civil) in Ontario or working towards P.Eng. license.
• Bachelors’ degree or higher in Civil Engineering.
• A minimum of 5 years of engineering field and office work experience pertaining most importantly to residential development projects.
• Must be AutoCAD and Microsoft Office proficient.
• Must be very competent with the English language, both written and oral, and be able to work well in a team environment, meet time sensitive client deadlines, and work under minimal supervision.

Engineer Candidate Role & Responsibilities:

• The candidate is expected to understand land development and design at a selfsufficient level.
• Under the direction of leadership, the candidate will be responsible for coordinating/communicating with clients, other consultants, and approval agencies.
• Manage field work requirements for projects, conduct site visits, carry out field work as necessary, analyze and discuss field data and results to guide projects to completion.
• Review information, carry out in-depth analysis and calculations, and prepare memorandums, letters and reports in a technical and professional report writing manner.
• Ensure projects are being completed on time and budget mindful.
• Develop and foster relationships with clients, contractors, colleagues, and approval agencies.
• Interact and communicate effectively and professionally with all Morey Associates Ltd. staff and clients.

Engineer Candidate will have:

• A valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle.
• Strong communication and critical thinking skills.
• Willingness and ability to work in a collaborative, open-office team environment.
• Desire to learn, educate and excel in all aspects of the engineering profession.
• Ability to maintain a high standard of professionalism to uphold Morey Associates Ltd. Consulting Engineers reputation and core values.
