Starting Rate: $23.00/hour

Miller Waste Systems Inc. has been in operation since 1961. Miller is a leader in waste management and diversion, providing governments and industries with a wide range of services in the provinces of Ontario, Nova Scotia, New Brunswick and Manitoba. Miller has over 50 years’ experience in the waste management sector, and currently operates out of more than 30 locations. We are looking for a highly capable Loaders/Pickers to be located out of our Ottawa East Location at 1815 Bantree Street, Ottawa.

What You’ll Do:

In the position of Loader/Picker your responsibilities will include but not limited to the working on a 2 Man Rear Loader Garbage Truck, and to ensure timely curbside collection of residential and mutli-residential waste. Garbage bags and/or cans/ or bulk items such as furniture must be lifted into the rear hopper of the truck and dumped. If it is a garbage can the can must be placed back on the resident’s property, flipped upside down. The garbage bags or cans can weigh up to 50 lbs. and need to be lifted from the ground up approximately 2 feet into the hopper. You must be highly productive and have excellent customer services skills; as well you may be required to help with waste collection or help with other contracts. You will be required make in excess of 800 residential stops per day.

Mandatory Requirements:

• Able to commute to work daily
• Must be physically fit to be successful in the position.
• Able to work Saturdays when required.
