Residential Care Worker

The position requires an individual with PSW qualifications or the equivalent in practical hands-on experience, who is comfortable working as a team member to support individuals with ASD or other developmental disabilities, or is willing to learn how to do so. This position could be ideal for an older professional caregiver needing a place to live but wishing to cut back on their workload to pursue hobbies or other interests, or a conscientious developmental/social services student needing a place to live while gaining relevant hands-on experience relevant to their academic program, 

The incumbent will be responsible for supporting my 51 year old daughter with ASD for up to 30 hours per week during the daytime. She will be provided room and Board in exchange for a "safety presence" from 8 P.M to 8 A.M., for at least five nights per week. During this time she would normally be free to sleep or pursue her own interests interrupted only by one or two sessions for toileting or other occasional personal care issues. The need for personal care other than toileting would be rare as my daughter is a very good sleeper. 

The RSW will have a large bedroom with a spacious walk in closet and adjoining sitting room. The house is situated on a park-like setting containing a little over an acre of land backing onto a large forest.
