The EEC is looking for an amazing Job Developer to provide job matching services for employers and job seekers by building the job developer/employer relationship through trust, integrity, listening to employer needs, and becoming a reliable resource in the employment relationship.  Job seekers are supported in the working environment through additional coaching and mentoring building on the work of the Employment Coach.  In addition, the Job Developer is a primary source of Labour Market Information for the EEC Team by actively engaging with employers

The EEC is a registered charity that boasts a multi-disciplinary and supportive team environment where dedicated client service meets personal growth to offer a fulfilling career, providing Leeds & Grenville with full service employment coaching, job readiness preparation, and employer services.  Starting August 30, 2021, each opportunity is 35 hours per week for a 1 year term with potential for extension depending on job performance and program funding.

Our Mission is to deliver education and employment services with excellence and innovative approaches that empower our community – employers, jobseekers, and other stakeholders – to achieve their goals.

In this role, your main duties will consist of

  • Access Employers in our community and work closely with them to developing meaningful jobs and/or skills development opportunities for our job seekers.
  • Develop and maintain strong business relationships through employer engagement initiatives and business support.
  • Provide recruiting and hiring services primarily for EEC job seekers and assist with onboarding and other interventions that are appropriate in the circumstances.
  • Organize and conduct hiring fairs for single and multiple employers.
  • Ensure eligibility for training grants and wage subsidies.
  • Professionally represent the EEC to foster community partnerships.
  • Maintain current knowledge of issues affecting employers and job seekers in Leeds & Grenville including demographic distinctions, the labour market, mental health/addictions, poverty, and criminal justice.
  • Administrative functions related to the position with substantial use of computer systems and various communication methods including in-person and virtual.
  • Participation as a supportive team player across the Employment + Education Centre Organization

 Minimum Qualifications & Competencies

 Education and Technical Skills

  • Education and/or experience sufficient to carry out the duties and responsibilities of the position
  • 1+ years sales, marketing, client relationship experience
  • 1+ years customer service experience
  • 1+ years recruitment experience
  • Research, interpretation, and application
  • Negotiation and follow through
  • Crisis management and conflict resolution skills
  • Professional communication, comprehension, and active listening skills
  • Strong administration including organizational, record keeping and data gathering abilities
  • Computer, smart phone, and social media ability

Preferred Qualifications & Competencies

  • Knowledge of EEC programs & services
  • Knowledge of available community support services
  • Knowledge of local labour market, understanding labour market trends specifically around challenges of marginalized persons
  • Life Skills acumen - an awareness of the needs individuals to obtain and build security
  • Basic understanding of Employment Law, Health & Safety and Human Rights legislation
  • Current G Licence and Insurance in good standing
  • Strong facilitation and presentation skills

Salary range for this position is $38,155 - $51,160, initial salary will be offered at entry level.
