Bring your strong organizational and administrative skills to the Ottawa Carleton Detention Centre where you will provide a variety of administrative support services to the Business Administrator, Senior Management and Operational Managers.

What can I expect to do in this role?

In this role, you will:
• Manage the scheduling of meetings and conferences
• Take meeting notes and prepare meeting minutes
• Prepare correspondence, documentations and spreadsheets
• Create and maintain tracking systems in Excel
• Maintain and update an email distribution database
• Photocopy and transmit general and confidential documents
• Maintain filing systems and perform other related administrative duties

How do I qualify?

Administrative Knowledge and Skills

• You have knowledge of office administration policies, practices and procedures to provide a variety of clerical tasks
• You have knowledge of filing procedures to maintain a variety of files and records
• You can interpret and apply legislation related to confidentiality and protection of privacy
• You can use and maintain various office equipment machines (e.g., photocopier, fax machine)

Organizational and Time Management Skills

• You can manage conflicting priorities and organize work to meet deadlines

Communication and Interpersonal Skills

• You have strong writing skills to prepare and proof read a variety of correspondence
• You can respond to inquiries, and interact effectively with all levels of staff using tact and diplomacy
• You can work independently and as part of a team

Analytical Skills

• You can check documents, identify errors and ensure records are maintained with accuracy

Computer Skills

• You are proficient with computer software applications and databases (i.e., Word, Excel, Outlook) to prepare documents, reports and spreadsheets
