Responsibilities for the position include but not limited to:

  • Test Newterra water treatment systems to ensure compliance to the engineered drawings and documentation. 
  • Follow testing processes 
  • Document all testing in the testing documentation including Control Narrative
  • Follow the Setup for Test documentation
  • Troubleshoot problems (electrical, mechanical, programing, process). When appropriate engage Engineering, Production, Project Management and others to resolve the problem and prevent re-occurrence.
  • Complete system test as per Project Schedule
  • Communicate with various departments to ensure success of system test and a smooth startup
  • Report issues found into quality tracking system
  • Responsible for performing duties in a safe manner and promoting safety to others in accordance with Newterra’s safety policies and procedures.  This includes reporting all safety concerns, near-misses and incidents to their Manager
  • Adhere to the company processes as detailed in Newterra’s Business Management System (BMS) and bring forward ideas for continuous improvement
  • Responsible for completing all assigned training applicable to your position in the applicable timeframe.

 

Qualifications:

  • Electrical or Controls/Instrumentation Technologist or equivalent experience
  • Instrumentation Experience (Flow meters, level transducers, float switches, etc.)
  • PLC Programming (Allen Bradley, Automation Direct, Schneider)
  • Organizational and leadership abilities
  • Communication and interpersonal skills 
  • Working knowledge of word, excel, outlook
  • Self-motivated with a results-driven approach
  • Problem-solving and troubleshooting skills (electrical, mechanical, programming, and process as asset)
  • Attention to detail, meticulous
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
  • Ability to work with specified timelines while maintaining focus on quality and safety
  • Must have own tools
  • Flexibility with working required overtime
