Purchasing Manager - Industrial Products

(Kingston Location – 40 hours Per Week – Mon - Fri)

Purchasing Manager Mandate

 The successful candidate will assume responsibilities for all procurement and purchasing activities and closely interact with our sales force, customer service associates and members of the leadership team. As an experienced buyer, you have a proven track record working in a customer- centric environment.       The major focus of this role is:

• Implement purchasing and contracting practices that will deliver value for our clients;
• Work with account / relationship managers and leadership to determine customer purchasing needs and present options to meet or exceed client expectations;
• Purchase stock and non-stock items and monitor delivery status to meet required time frames and trouble-shoot any service of supply challenges that arise;
• Expand product and supplier knowledge to support our field and service representatives;
• Manage all vendor purchasing programs;
• Recommend methods to improve purchasing and supply chain processes.

Qualifications and Experience

 Levac Supply Ltd. and our valued clients require an industry purchasing professional who is a team player with:

• A post-secondary education in Supply Chain Management, Logistics or  Business;
• 4+ years of experience in a purchasing environment for a industrial products distributor;
• Superior oral and written communication skills to develop strong relationships with existing and new suppliers and the ability to update account management team members;
• Established organizational and analytical skills with a high attention to detail;
• Demonstrated experience as a life-long learner;
• Knowledge of products and brands represented by Levac Supply Ltd.
