Loss Prevention Operator - Flex

Job Description:

We are looking for an energetic individual who thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys challenges, and is a dynamic team player to join our team in a new role, Loss Prevention Operator - Flex. Reporting to the Loss Prevention Supervisor, you will be responsible for security functions as well as providing unique and direct support to the Loss Prevention Team, Giant Tiger Stores and Facility Operations under a broad scope of security and retail store loss prevention operations. This is not a security guard role.

This is cross-trained position requiring flexibility and adapting to schedule changes as needed by the Giant Tiger Loss Prevention Dept.  The successful candidate is guaranteed a minimum of 56 hours biweekly up to full time hours.

Job Description Highlights:

• Assist in the execution of loss prevention activities and programs
• Monitor those entering and exiting the warehouse in accordance with requirements;
• Handle incoming Emergency Response 24/7 reporting and coordinate Emergency response protocols as they relate to the Giant Tiger Chain
• Responsible to maintain access control including Access Cards, Visitor Badges, Keys, & Runs, etc.
• Pulling various system reports as they relate to inventory investigations and claims
• Manage various administrative duties including completion of all Company/Dept relevant report in-take reports and maintain all required departmental records
• Support LP analysts with the warehouse auditing program
• Observe and supervise security camera systems;
• Provide direct support to the Loss Prevention Team, Giant Tiger Stores and Facility Operations as directed by the Loss Prevention Supervisor or Team leader
• Complete designated tasks as directed by the Loss Prevention Supervisor

Job Requirements: 

• Completion of High School;
• Excellent oral and written communication skills;
• Must possess (minimum) Intermediate PC skills, within a Windows environment with strong excel skills
• Ability to work under pressure and handle emergency situations calmly and professionally;
• Strong attention to detail and problems solving skills;
• Self-motivated; ability to work without direct supervision;
• Ability to work under strict confidentially, high ethical standards, combined with a common sense approach;
• Loss prevention experience – either through education or work experience;
• Ontario Security Guard License;
• Successful candidates must be in good standing for both performance and health & safety.

Job Assets: 

• Diploma in Law Enforcement and/or Police Foundation
• Bilingual
• Previous experience in the retail environment
• Exposure to outside elements
• Must be able to lift 50 lbs

Job Schedule:

Standard Schedule

• Week 1: Sunday, Monday, Thursday, Friday: 6:00am-3:00pm
• Week 2: Tuesday, Wednesday, Saturday: 6:00am-2:30pm
• *Shifts will change while covering vacation time in the Loss Prevention department
