Child Care United of Leeds and Grenville in Gananoque is expanding! We are seeking full time Registered Early Childhood Educators (RECE) to join our team. As part of our team, educators are focused on delivering programs that challenge and engage the children through play, creativity and imagination. We are committed to providing the highest quality of care and opportunities for each child.

The Gananoque location (Thousand Island Daycare Centre) will be opening a new location, offering care for children aged 6 weeks to 12 years of age, opening 15 new childcare positions.

Applicants must be knowledgeable in working in a license childcare centre, inquiry based programming, including ELECT and How Does Learning Happen. Registered Early Childhood Educators will have a starting wage of $16.96 per hour (plus additional $2.00 Wage Enhancement when available) as well as health benefits after six months of employment.

The educators are responsible for providing engaging and supportive supervision while caring for the children with our programs, in a manner that is consistent with Child Care United’s policies and program statement. As educators in the classroom, we look for enthusiastic, energetic, loving, patient, creative individuals who promote security and self-confidence and are committed to quality care. The individuals must be professional, flexible, and have an ability to problem solve. Individuals are responsible for ensuring that all standards of the Child Care and Early Years Act are upheld, as well as Public Health regulations.

The Registered Early Childhood Educator is responsible for supervising and caring for children in a manner that is consistent with Child Care United’s Mission, Vision and Program Statement. The educator will be responsible for program planning and implementation within the programs. The successful candidate will work as part of a team to provide a high quality, inquiry/play-based early learning environment. Educator is responsible for being accountable for the daily routines, working alongside team and Supervisor, maintaining essential reporting within the program.

Qualifications:

  • Available for flexible shifts
  • Early Childhood Education Diploma, or equivalent an asset
  • Registration with the College of Early Childhood Educators
  • Up to date First Aid and CPR (Level C)
  • Clear Criminal Reference Check with Vulnerable Sector Check (within the last 6 months)
  • Up to date Immunizations (including TB test)
  • Active knowledge of the Child Care and Early Years Act, How Does Learning Happen, ELECT
  • Excellent verbal and written communication
  • Ability to work independently and as a team member

Covid Considerations:

  • Employees are required to wear PPE as outlined by the Ministry of Education and Health policies (provided)
  • Sanitizing, disinfecting or cleaning procedures in place.
