Laundromat Attendant/Cashier

Key Duties & Responsibilities:

• Accepting and processing dry cleaning and alteration orders following established procedures
• Accepting and processing wash, dry and fold orders. Which includes operating washers/dryers and for the proper sorting, washing, drying and folding along with storage for customer pickup
• Providing assistance to customers in the self-serve laundromat as needed
• Store opening and closing duties
• Operate cash register, process money/credit/debit card payments. Balance end of day cash sheet
• Maintains laundromat, office and washroom by performing regular sanitizing and cleaning (such as dusting, sweeping, mopping, empty waste containers and clean up after spills and/or leaks)
• Is aware of employees’ responsibilities and follows all company health and safety policies and procedures
• Works safely to reduce the risk of injury to self, co-workers and customers
• Wears personal protective equipment (or clothing) as required by task or company policies
• Does not allow customer and/or self operation of faulty washers or dryers in the laundromat and promptly reports all actual or potentially hazardous situations to the manager
• Performs other related duties as required.

Qualifications:

• Experience working in the service or retail industry
• Reliable and dependent
• Candidate must be able to work independently, professionally and respectfully
• Able to communicate effectively with customers, co-workers and management
• Must be able to understand both oral and written instructions in English
• Physical ability to perform the duties of the job: standing, walking, bending, kneeling and lift up to 25 lbs.

Schedule

• 1 weekly shift on Sunday (8.5 hours) 
• Must be available for occasional weekday and/or weekend fill-ins - with 2 weeks prior notice
