We are currently seeking a Senior Accountant to join our finance team in our Medical Device Manufacturing Facility in Gananoque, Ontario. The position will provide the successful candidate the opportunity to learn and grow in various parts of business, paving the way for future success.

Responsibilities:

Accounting

  • Manage month end close process – develop schedule, prepare complex journal entries, prepare reconciliations and monthly reports
  • Financial management of general ledger accounts and site cost centre reporting in a manufacturing environment
  • Ownership of key balance sheet accounts
  • Ensuring accuracy and timeliness of financial information
  • Annual budget and quarterly forecast preparation and presentation

Financial Reporting

  • Responsible for corporate deliverables and management reporting
  • Prepare and present monthly financial results, financial risks, and opportunities
  • Providing monthly analysis and determine drivers
  • Preparing required reports for site pension plan both DCPP and DB

Other

  • Serve as a backup function to the Plant Controller
  • Work with external auditors on annual tax returns
  • Responsible for local banking and cash forecasting
  • Continuously look for process improvements and challenge the status quo
  • Ad hoc projects as required

  • Can handle volume of worksheets and transactions
  • Good communication skills with a positive attitude

Requirements:

  • Accounting Designation
  • University graduate
  • 8+ years of experience in accounting; preferably within a manufacturing environment
  • Experience with complex data analysis
  • Ability to provide business insights
  • Advanced skills in MS Excel / PowerPoint
  • Proficient in SAP and BPCS asset
  • High integrity, business acumen and ability to influence change
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment
