Job Title: Navigator- Program Support Worker

Location: Wellness Access for Youth- Municipality of North Grenville

Duration: Contract until March 31st, 2021 with potential extension

Work Week- Full Time :35-40 hours/week (may include evenings/weekends)

Connect Youth Inc. is seeking an independent self-starting individual who can continue the phenomenal efforts of our current Navigator for the new Wellness Access for Youth located virtually in the Municipality of North Grenville.  The individual will deliver programming mirroring that currently offered at South Grenville District High School- Drop in.  The individual will be the liaison between youth aged 12-25 in the community.  The youth will be advocated for, supported and introduced to services available to them based on their needs.  The individual will also be a liaison to health care providers, employment agencies, social services, housing supports, education opportunities and will provide access to basic needs.

The Navigator will be responsible for continuing to build a permanent presence in North Grenville, be open to attending meetings, contributing collaboratively with other partners and making the services in the area accessible and known to youth.

The successful candidate will possess the following qualifications and skills:

  • College diploma or University degree in a related field and/or equivalent professional experience working with youth aged 12-25
  • Energetic/enthusiastic/engaging
  • Knowledge of services available to youth; knowledge specific to North Grenville an asset but not necessary
  • Excellent communication skills in all areas; verbal, written and electronically.  Bilingual or fluent in French will be an asset in the French based schools in the area.
  • Problem solving, time management and exceptional interpersonal skills with both youth and adults
  • Ability to follow policy and procedure both at the grass root organizational level (Connect Youth Inc.) and Municipal level (Kemptville District Hospital)
  • Ability to establish and maintain rapport with a wide variety of area professionals including; Doctors, Boards of Directors, Service Providers, other Not-For-Profit organizations and Education Professionals
  • Mental Health First Aid, First Aid and CPR, Crisis Intervention all considered assets

 

This position will have a base in the Municipality of North Grenville, a valid G license and the appropriate insurance is required.  Travel will be required and is remunerated.  Rate of pay is commensurate on experience and/or education.
