FULFORD ACADEMY:  CLEANER POSITION

Fulford Academy, a co-educational boarding school for International and Canadian students has an immediate opening for a cleaner to join our team.

This is a part-time position located at the Brockville Academy & Maitland Dormitory that includes weekday and weekend shifts.

Reports to: Facilities Manager

Job Summary

Provide general cleaning services for Academy & Dormitory buildings, furnishings, facilities, and equipment.

 Primary Responsibilities:

• Cleans, washes, and dusts tables, desks, walls, doors, windows, counter tops, cabinets in all areas in Academy & Dormitory buildings (e.g. classrooms, hallways, bathrooms, kitchen, dining room, dorm rooms).
• Cleans, sweeps, washes, and polishes floors; vacuums carpeting and other required areas.
• Cleans, washes, and disinfects Academy & Dormitory facilities, such as sinks, toilets, and showers.
• Cleans up spills, broken glass, garbage, and related items at the Academy & Dormitory.
• Empties trash cans and removes garbage.
• Completes reports, forms, and other documentation relating to cleaning duties, e.g., checklists, charts, tables.
• Takes note of damage to buildings and equipment and reports to supervisor.
• Informs supervisor of any unusual or potentially hazardous spills or items found at the Academy & Dormitory.
• Additional related duties may be assigned.

 Education:   Secondary school diploma.

Experience:   Cleaning experience working with standard cleaning equipment and related chemicals and supplies.

Skills:  Cleaning knowledge and good interpersonal skills with children.
