Clintar Landscape Management is looking for a highly motivated and dependable Crew Leader for their Ottawa location.

Reports To:  Construction Supervisor

Leads: 1-4+ people depending on Project

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and motivate a crew to complete a variety of landscaping/construction tasks
  • Set the pace by working with the team to complete a variety of landscaping/construction tasks
  • Be able to use a variety of powered and unpowered equipment and complete tasks such as:
    • 5 Ton dump truck
    • Trailers
    • Quick Cut Saws
    • Hand Tools for Brick Installation
    • Tamper and Backpack Blower
    • Planting annuals, perennials, shrubs and Trees
    • Pruning Equipment
    • Mulching and Weeding (tools and procedures)
    • Minor Concrete work and repairs
    • Other tasks as assigned
  • Have experience working around and able to supervise heavy equipment on a site.  EX: Backhoe, Skidsteer etc.
  • Interact with customers to troubleshoot and solve landscape problems and knowing when to call or involve Supervisor appropriately in those discussions.
  • Build strong team spirit through communicating effectively with team members and proactively resolving any issues or concerns
  • Provide on-the-job training and enforcement of regulations related to Health & Safety, operating equipment and proper work standards (proactively bringing others in to train crew members and yourself if you are not adequately trained)

  • Ability to record and report all job site activities, including material used, hours, incidents and issues to the Supervisor.

Working Conditions:

  • Love of working outdoors is essential and the willingness to work in bad weather conditions i.e. rain, high humidity and heat and cold weather
  • Can lift or move a minimum of twenty-five pounds
  • During the peak season is willing to work extended hours and weekends

Qualifications:

  • A college horticulture school diploma or equivalent and/or one to three years Team Leader experience preferably in the Construction sector of the landscaping industry
  •  Must possess a valid ‘G’ class Ontario driver’s license with a clean driving record
  • Secret Clearance and Reliability Clearance an asset

Wages:

$18.00-$22.00 per hour depending on experience
