JOB TITLE
Human Resources Summer Student
REPORTING TO
Human Resources and Health and Safety Manager
JOB SUMMARY
Under the supervision of the Human Resources & Health and Safety Manager, provide administrative support in the onboarding processes and assist in coordinating various employee programs, HR events and Health Safety awareness.
SPECIFIC DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
On-boarding
- Coordinate with hiring managers to set up orientation schedules;
- Complete Hiring Checklists to ensure employees have returned all forms
- Prepare welcome package for new hires.
- Scan employee files into the system and set up in Kronos
- Pre Screen Candidates for interviews
- Process background checks
Employee Programs
- Prepare and post employee birthday list
- Research and suggest programs that could contribute to Giant Tiger’s positive work environment.
- Post Job Postings and Job Awarded to Postings
- Enter Vacation requests forms
- Complete emails/items in payroll folder
- Send out Milestone letters after 2 years of Service
- Rate – 16$/ hour
Administration
- Assist in drafting employee personnel announcements (New hires, new baby, etc.)
- General administrative support.
- Shredding of personal info once file has been scanned into system electronically.
- Other items as requested
- A student studying Business Administration or Human Resources would be considered an asset.
May be required to complete other tasks or take on other projects as required.
