Production Team Members

The Process Team Member is part of a manufacturing team in the Grenville Castings’ Perth facility. His/Her main function is cutting, grinding, pressure testing and other activities in the creation of aluminum castings for the automotive industry. Processors work on shift rotations in a foundry environment.

Education and Experience

  • Good decision-making skills
  • Ability to learn new tasks
  • Ability to read work instructions and apply them on an ongoing basis
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment an asset
  • Training on Band Saw, Grinder and other industrial tools an asset
  • Experience in a manufacturing setting an asset
  • Lock-Out Tag-Out, WHMIS, Heat Stress Prevention and other industrial training an asset

Duties

  • Safely operating various tools to create and process aluminum castings
  • Safely applying various processes in the creation, processing and inspection of aluminum castings
  • Maintaining an orderly work area 
  • Reporting production counts to shift leader
  • Following all company policies (ex. Health and Safety, Environmental, AODA, Quality, Human Resources)
  • Following all work instructions
  • Working in a safe manner at all times
  • Maintaining high workmanship standards
  • Other duties as assigned by the shift leader or manager

Details

  • The work environment on the plant floor is characterized by very warm summer temperatures, loud noise and fork truck traffic
  • Team members must be able to perform all essential functions as appropriate on the plant floor, in meetings, and with team members, management, customers and suppliers
  • 3 days paid training, overtime available
  • Salary: $16.81/hour plus shift premiums
