WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING

This is a full-time role, based in Iroquois, troubleshooting Production at both a PCBA and system level. The work environment is separated from the manufacturing production floor and you will be working at a bench with the relevant tools necessary to debug.  The successful candidate will be responsible for:

PCBA and Systems debug:

  •  Using various test equipment, tools (both hardware and software), and schematics to test and debug PCBA’s and systems that incorporate these PCBA’s.
  • Initiate repairs using appropriate routing and rework tools, and log data related to these repairs
  • When necessary, work with the Test Development Team and Engineers to investigate the root cause of design issues
  • Provide technical support to production test staff by validating test procedures and hardware integrity and initiating repairs
  • Work with the Returns department to assist troubleshooting product returned by the customer
  •  As required, perform production configuration, testing and calibration following established procedures, policies and protocols

  • Strong technical abilities and organizational skills
  • High initiative and well developed analytical, problem solving and communication skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to cope with varying levels of support and documentation
  • Self-starter, quick learner and able to work with minimum supervision in meeting schedules 

 WHAT YOU KNOW

  • Two or three year Electronic Technician/Technologist diploma or equivalent experience
  • Strong understanding of electronic theory and applications, with emphasis on digital components such as CPU, FPGA, flash, etc.
  • Strong foundation in schematic reading and interpretation
  • Working knowledge of Linux and other command line interface with hardware
  • Knowledge of JTAG technologies (IEEE 1149.1, 1149.6…)
  • Familiarity with wide variety of test equipment (ie: high-speed scopes, video/audio generators/analyzers, DVMs etc)
  • Above average PC/Windows computer skills, specifically related to network and serial interface and configuration
  • Must have excellent verbal and written documentation skills
  • Must have computer proficiency with Microsoft Office and core business-use tools
  • Knowledge of video and audio standards and broadcasting would be an asset
  • Robotics experience with DC motors and controls would be an asset
