Permanent Kitchen Attendant - Part Time with possibility of full time hours

We are looking for a permanent kitchen attendant to work with our kitchen team. You will be working directly with the owner, and fellow coworkers to ensure the efficient and profitable operation of the kitchen as it expands.

Key Responsibilities:

Production Management:

  • Ensure that products are made to high-quality standards, striving for consistency & following established recipes and techniques.
  • Monitor inventory of ingredients and supplies working with the inventory/ordering lead to ensure levels are met.

Quality Control:

  • Conduct regular quality control checks on products to maintain consistency and excellence.
  • Ensures packaging is consistent & meets standards set.
  • Address and resolve any issues related to the quality of products, customer complaints, employee performance, and food safety.

Health and Safety Compliance:

  • Ensure the kitchen complies with all food safety cooking, storage & handling regulations, and health standards.
  • Maintain a clean and safe working environment for employees and customers.

Inventory Management:

  • Monitor and manage inventory levels, rotating stock, and minimizing waste.
  • Look for creative ways to reduce shrinkage, waste, and increase profits.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma (required)
  • Recent experience in a retail bakery or post-secondary diploma in related field (asset)
  • Excellent knowledge of cooking & baking techniques, ingredients, and equipment
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Food Handler Certification, Food Safe Check, or equivalent (required)
  • Fluent in English (required)

Work conditions and physical capabilities:

  • Fast-paced environment & capable of working under pressure.
  • Can work alone with minimal direction as well as with a team – knows how to have fun at work.
  • Standing for extended periods
  • Walking
  • Heavy lifting 40+ lbs
  • Early mornings, weekends & Holidays
  • Set schedules with every other weekend off

Salary:

  • Based on experience.
  • Minimum 4 month probation period.
